You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth. Psalms 104:14
In Genesis at the time of creation Adam and Eve were charged with looking after the animals and the land. The Bible gives us a blueprint on how to steward the earth using animals and farming with the right amount of rest to nurture the land. The science around regenerative practices supports the blueprint our creator has given us.
There are a few key principles that we use to manage our livestock and country that are often described as sustainable and regenerative. The two most important are:
1. Match carrying capacity to stocking rate. This means we adjust our livestock numbers on a property to match what pasture grows.
2. Rest. The right amount of rest at the right time ensure plants have time to grow how they were designed which feed microbes in the soil thus building soil
By following these principles we will achieve healthy pasture, healthy soils and healthy livestock.
We also believe that maintaining sustainable practices we can provide beef and lamb that is nutritious and wholesome for our bodies. That is why we do not add any hormones to our livestock in raising or finishing off the meat.
Our beef and lamb are 100% grass fed and finished. This means that we do not feed our livestock with any grain at any point ensuring you get the benefit of meat that is a lot healthier for us to consume. Without the feeding of grain we can also ensure our product is also gluten free, including all our sausages.
We do use a select few vaccines which we believe are crucial to the health and wellbeing of our livestock.
A few other things that we make sure to leave out is the MRNA vaccine, boaver, antibiotics and nitrates. We just focus on providing the best meat without any of the nasties.
